New Beginings

So we are back at uni for the second year and a term has already passed. As you can see from my blog i haven't been on here in a while. to keep you up to date i have just finished an animation project where i had to create a robot and make him slip, trip and fall. I found it a very difficult and challenging project and on top of that i have had a very difficult term, which led me to become behind on my work. however on the positive side i am getting back on track and have already started our next brief, which is to interpret a script from a film or book planning mise en scene, character design and cinematography.

So far i have started research into which film i will use, i am not so good with reading from a book so have decided to stick to films. i have looked at 'The Adams Family', 'Frankenstein', 'Harry Potter', and a few Tim Burton films such as 'Edward Scissorhands', 'Sweeney Todd' and 'The Nightmare before Christmas'.

Film

so far being back at uni has been great but had its down points as i have been ill. i am doing film for the next 5 weeks and we have been put in our groups and been given scripts we have to interpret. there are 5 people including myself in our group and we have all been given individual roles. i am in charge of the sound, im not 100% sure what that entitles, but im really looking forward to it and in the film project before christmas i was working abit with sound and really enjoyed it. we have our setting and we know our plan, however we are a bit stuck on the extra scene as the one we came up with is not an extra scene just extended. i have missed most of this week as i haven been able to walk on my foot and havent been feeling very well but i al looking forward to the rest of this project but even more excited about the animation project.

First Seminar Back

In our first seminar we were discussing active learning and what we think active learning envolvs. We were set a task to talk about what we do as an indipendant practioner. To develop my self as a multimedia student I read alot of magazins including 'Creative Arts', 'Creative Review' and i will buy any other random magazins i see at the time that look useful. I use these to get inspiration and techniques, they are also good for brush sets and equipment.

I also research alot of artists and look atr thier works again for inspirtation. I have also been looking at jobs within the creative arts world. Theis is a job I am about to apply for as a graohic designer, they are looking for sutdents for 8 hours a weeek.
