Client: Hotel Bathroom Doors

This is my bathroom i have designed for my hotel room, the doors slide open and are touch sensitive so there's no buttons.

Client: Saving Space, Folding Sofa

I designed a sofa that was built into the wall of the hotel room and by ipad control it folds out of the wall. This is just a very rough animation clip to show what i mean, the models cut into each other a bit but you get the jist.

Artefact 2: Research

So as you saw in my first artifact, I took a photo of a small room with only one window allowing light. For my second artifact I have taken a photo of a large bright room which allows a lot of light to pass through the many bi folding doors.

Here is the original photo and the model I have made in max. I have used the Daylight system again however I am struggling to understand the technical details involved with the daylight system. My images have both turned out very dark. I have got the image of light I wanted to create in the right place and angle however it looks like night time, this is something I am working on and I will post up the corrected versions on here once I have discovered how to do it.

Client: Saving Space, Underground Bed

Here i have modeled and animated a bed rising from under the floorboards. This is a design i have come up with to save space in my hotel room. I am not certain i will definatley use this idea but it's a step forward in the right direction.

Artefact 1: Re Done

So after my first attempt at artefact one i have added on to it to make it more of an artefact. Below is the video of photos i took of a small dark room with one window throughout the day and i have also chosen one on the photos to create in max and try to create the same light effect. I am going to get a focus group to tell me what character of not only the person they would expect to occupy this room but the character of the room itself, what it might be used for? etc.

24 Rooms in 1

This is a link to a daily mail article on an architect from Hong Kong who created sliding inter-changeable walls in his tiny apartment to create more space than was available. It's incredible and is something i am really thinking about to help my hotel design.
